Should the credit bureaus be consolidated into one national database overseen by the government?

The three do a horrible job of fixing errors none of the three reports are ever the same. With the amount of power they have over our lives shouldn%26#039;t they be more accountable or centralized. If not why?

No! Regulated more and heavily penalized for non compliance, but the last thing we need is more government!

Have you noticed most governmental bureaucracy lately ? Yeah, they have it all together. Although I agree with your position on the problemswith credit-reporting companies,

handing it over to the government is a bad idea. The Federal

Government is far too large already.

:-(

Fix the reporting companies?

yes

hand it to the government to do?

heck no...

what exactly has the government actually %26quot;fixed%26quot; successfully?

And they couldn%26#039;t fix things either.. ever try to deal with the IRS when they screw up? (mothers an income tax consultant, so I see it all the time)

But yes.. I do think that they need to get together and come up with some way to streamline things...
